Medicare mostly stops at the border. We help you cover the trip.
Original Medicare generally doesn't cover care outside the United States, and most Medicare Supplement and Advantage plans only offer limited foreign travel coverage, if any. If you travel, especially internationally, that gap is worth closing before you go, not after.
What it is
Travel insurance for Medicare recipients typically covers emergency medical care while traveling, and in some cases emergency medical evacuation back to the United States. It's separate from your Medicare or Supplement coverage and is meant specifically to bridge the gap Medicare leaves outside the country.
Some Medicare Supplement plans include a modest foreign travel emergency benefit, but it usually comes with a lifetime cap and a deductible, and it doesn't cover routine care while you're away. For frequent or extended travel, a dedicated travel policy fills in what your Supplement leaves out.
This matters most for snowbirds, cruise travelers, and anyone planning international trips, a medical emergency abroad without coverage can be one of the largest unplanned expenses a retiree faces.
Who this fits
- You travel internationally, even occasionally
- You take cruises or extended trips
- You split time between the U.S. and another country
- Your current Supplement plan's travel benefit feels thin for how much you travel
What we do for you
Check what you already have
We start by reviewing your existing Supplement or Advantage plan to see what foreign travel coverage, if any, is already built in.
Match coverage to your travel pattern
A single trip, seasonal travel, and frequent international travel each call for different coverage. We match the policy to how you actually travel.
Explain evacuation coverage clearly
Emergency medical evacuation is often the most expensive gap. We make sure you understand what's covered and what isn't.
Time it around your trip
We help you get coverage in place with enough lead time before you leave, not the week you're packing.
Trip coming up? Let's check your coverage first.
If you have a trip planned, especially internationally, it's worth a short conversation before you go. We'll tell you honestly whether your current plan is enough.
