Part D drug plans that actually cover what you take.
Part D is standalone prescription drug coverage. Original Medicare doesn't include it on its own, so if you're on Original Medicare plus a Supplement policy, you'll need a separate Part D plan to cover your medications.
What it is
Each Part D plan has its own list of covered drugs, called a formulary, along with its own pricing tiers and pharmacy network. Two plans can look similar on price and cover your medications very differently, one might cover a prescription you take every day, another might not cover it at all.
If you're on an Advantage plan, drug coverage is often built in already. If you're on Original Medicare with a Supplement policy, or you're not enrolled in any drug plan at all, this is the piece that closes the gap.
There's also a penalty for going without creditable drug coverage once you're eligible and not signing up within your window. It's avoidable, and it's one of the first things we check.
Who this fits
- You're on Original Medicare plus a Supplement policy
- You currently have no drug coverage at all
- Your current plan stopped covering a medication you take
- You want to check for a lower-cost pharmacy or tier
What we do for you
Start with your actual medication list
We go through what you currently take, dosages included, before looking at a single plan.
Check formularies against your prescriptions
We look at real plan formularies to see which ones cover your specific medications, at what tier and cost.
Confirm your pharmacy is in network
A plan can cover your drugs and still cost more if your usual pharmacy isn't in its preferred network. We check both.
Flag the late enrollment penalty early
If you've gone without creditable coverage, we tell you upfront so there are no surprises when you enroll.
Bring your medication list. We'll check it against real plans.
The only way to know if a drug plan actually works for you is to check it against what you take. That's the first thing we do, before anything else.
